DAE-3 for Media PC Platforms
Manufacturers using this new D2Audio technology are able to combine home theater audio with traditional video receiver, CD, DVD, DVR (a Tivo®-like function), cable box tuner, advanced High Definition TV tuner, and PC Internet connectivity into a single slim enclosure.
A number of unique attributes make the DAE-3 series ideally suited for Media PC platforms, making true convergence possible.
1.) Small Physical Size: The new DAE-3 technology enables extremely condensed amplifier solutions, combining four chips from the first generation technology into a single IC to enable very compact amplifier solutions.
2.) Small Thermal Footprint: The DAE-3 solutions have a very small thermal footprint, which is an essential feature for fan-less noise-free operation.
3.) Real-Time Power Supply Monitoring: The unique DAE-3 firmware running on the internal DSP implements a real-time power supply monitoring which is perhaps the most essential component of D2Audio technology at play in media PCs. The large power requirements a 5-channel 200W/channel audio amplifier places on the typical 250W to 350W CE system power supply could easily cause the power supply voltages to fall and reset the system processor, without the advanced power monitoring technology exclusively from D2Audio. |
